In Design and Technology, Mr McGill’s Year 3 children have been conducting background research for their food topic this half term. Their first lessons started with the children using their 5 senses to select a bread – using taste, smell, texture and appearance. The bread selected would have to be most suitable for creating a sandwich to sell in a coffee shop not far from Mount Vesuvius, Italy. In future lessons, children will use technical skills to learn various preparation essentials such as cutting skills. Then, children will use the Eat Well Plate to support their design of the sandwich that they will propose to sell.
