Junior Games 2008.

Last week, children from years 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 attended heats for the Junior Games 2008. Once again the Carr Hill kids showed what they're made of as they braved the pouring rain. Friends and family cheered them on as they raced on the Northern Fields of Saltwell Park.
Chloe Batey and Cameron Hope ran particularly well. They were asked to represent their team in the NewcastleGateshead Junior Games Challenge at Gateshead Stadium.

Whithaugh Park.
Whithaugh Park has become an important part of our school year. Many of our children have visited the activity centre more than once now. The first visit in year 3 is always the most exciting as it is often the first night away from family for many of the children.

Year 3 and 4 visit Hadrian's Wall.
As part of our Roman studies we decided to visit Hadrian's Wall. The children visited a museum to gain some background knowledge and generally 'play soldiers' as we tried on costumes.
In the afternoon we enjoyed a tour of the ruins whilst we listened to an Archeologist.

Once again Years 1 and 2 were part of the Gateshead Dance Festival 2007. The festival has become an annual event in the Carrhill diary and shows the increasing role that the performing arts holds within school.
