Year 3/4 visit Stonehaugh, Northumberland
Despite the weather, years 3 and 4 visited the totem poles in Stonehaugh last week. This followed our studies of the Navajo native Americans. We sketched, made our own shelters and gathered information to draw our own maps of the area when got home.
Sketching in the rain.

Year 6 London visit.
After a long year and very successful year, year 6 enjoyed the heat in London. They visited all the major sights, enjoying every minute.
Here's what they had to say..............
"Gave us better knowledge and gave us a break from home." Dominika
"Mind blowing because Mr. Kidd gave us the responsibility of going to London." Natalie
"It was amazing. It was one of the best trips we've had!" Rachel
"It was great but annoying waiting for the tube." Sima
"It was fab! I liked it best when we watched the 'Lion King'." Mollie
"It was good because I mixed with other teachers." Liam
"I think it was a good experience and I enjoyed the food the most." The living legend that is Kain.
"I thought it was a really good experience." Colin
"I thought it was so amazing, words cannot say!" Brandon
"It was a great experience away from work."
David, you'll say that so often as you get older.

Bolam Lake
Foundation Stage took full advantage of the recent good weather and visited Bolam Lake. The children collected natural materials to add to their clay tiles before searching the woods for the Gruffalo. We did find his cave but sadly he was not at home.

Ofsted

![]()
At Carr Hill we welcome interest in our school and enjoy opportunities to show how special we are. Ofsted provided such an opportunity during July and we are proud to share the outcomes. The report begins...........
'This is a good school in which pupils’ personal development and well-being are outstanding. This is recognised by parents who hold the school in high regard and give credit to the headteacher and staff for providing a supportive, caring environment. The view of one parent that their child had gained in confidence and gone from strength to strength is echoed by many.'
